2010 - A fantastic year

Wow what an end to a fantastic season!! With only three qualifiers under his belt and a couple of practice shows after his summer holiday, Del Boy was on top form at Birmingham infront of Ride Judge David Bartram & Conformation Judge Jackie Beatham. We knew the competition was of the highest standard and it gets hotter each year so we were completely overwhelmed and a tiny bit in shock to be pulled forward in top! He was five marks ahead overall and the championship was just one big bonus to be pulled behind Jayne Webber and the amazing Humdinger. He absolutely rose to the occassion and galloped like a chaser to the roar of the crowd! What a day :-) Del Boy also won his Ridden Final at the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association`s (TGCA) first Championship Show at Wiltshire In October and went on to be Champion Ridden and overall res. Supreme of Show. Del Boy was bred by the late Jim Durkin out of his China Doll Mare and is by the fabulous Greenerpastures "Sootys Horse" (see links)

The Freak gave a fantastic ridden account of himself for our good friend Heather Rothwell who piloted him expertly for us. After a long break after his 2008 debut at HOYS due to his busy stud duties, he did not let us down, (albeit being a little overzealous in the run out inhand!) standing 7th in the overall line up. He goes to our good friends Louise & Chris Monk for daughter Hannah to show undersaddle in the upcoming season, whilst returning to us for stud duties. Hannah rides him beautifully and the pair have already shared good success together as such as picking up Overall Supreme at the Royal Lancs Spring Show 2010 and they also won their final at the TGCA Champs and stood res Champion Ridden. Best of luck for 2011 Hannah & Freaky!!

Our young stallion Heartbreaker AKA "Stan the Man" by the world famous "Lottery Horse" passed his CHAPS Grading in Oct 2010 and was impeccably behaved although very excited! We cant wait to get him out under saddle in the new season and look forward to hopefully having some foals off him. We are very grateful to Meadow Farm UK (see links) for supplying our gorgeous chap and he has impressed us greatly by what he has produced to Andrea`s superb broodmares. (See stallion page for his foal pictures)

We have four mares in foal to our new addition (Andys new toy!) He is "Boston" sired by the great "Fleetwood" and is currently starting his education with the intention of showing him undersaddle hopefully 2012. He has run with our mares all summer and is a fantastic babysitter to the youngsters! First foal due April so watch this space! (See stallion page for his pictures) Many thanks to Tarnya of The Coloured Cob Centre (see links) for finding us this super boy!

A big thank you to Heather, to all my friends (you know who you are!) for encouragement and support.. Thanks to Mum, Grandma & Aunty Joy for giving Isaac his second homes when we are away overnight... To "Queen" Anne, my lifelong mentor! To Chris & Darren for keeping old Bertha on the road and keeping her name as the Shuttleworth Silver Flying Machine (!) A big thanks to Karen, for your patience & superb last minute polishing skills...for which I will always be grateful. Biggest of all thanks to Andy, for washing the boys within an inch of their lives so they always look pristine for me...for driving me the length and breadth of the country (but we have a laugh dont we?!) and for working as hard as a man can to pay for the whole thing :@) Here`s to a brilliant 2011....
